The OLMA Preservation Coalition is pleased to announce the results of our recent survey aimed at assessing the best course of action for the future of our organization. Through this survey, we have actively sought the input and perspectives of our stakeholders, and we are grateful to all who participated and shared their valuable insights. For those who were unable to attend the meeting on Monday, March 24th when our survey results were presented, you can access the video playback HERE.
After careful consideration and analysis of the survey responses, it has become evident that Pathway 3 has emerged as the choice among our stakeholders. Pathway 3 embodies the collective vision and aspirations of our community, reflecting the desires and priorities expressed by those who submitted their feedback. There are two components to Pathway 3 as indicated below.
PATHWAY 3A
Continue our legacy of empowering women on a new campus on Long Island. The new campus we envision would be similar to the bucolic environment that defines the current campus located at 815 Convent Rd in Syosset, New York.
PATHWAY 3B
Establish a Foundation to sponsor young women who would like to attend an all-girls faith-based high school funded by a variety of events in the “Spirit of Mercy” throughout the year; focused on preserving & documenting memories and experiences (via website, etc.)
This resounding endorsement of Pathway 3 underscores our commitment to aligning our actions with the wishes of our supporters and ensuring that our efforts are guided by their input. We recognize the importance of listening to the voices of our stakeholders and are dedicated to upholding transparency and inclusivity in our decision-making processes.
We are therefore issuing a call for passionate individuals who are willing to step up and lead the charge in making our vision a reality for Pathway 3A. We seek individuals who are dedicated to our mission and possess the drive to create a thriving educational institution that honors OLMA's legacy while embracing innovation and progress.
In addition to visionary leadership, the success of this initiative will hinge on the generous support of investors who share our commitment to educational excellence. While the exact funding requirements are yet to be determined, we anticipate a need for abundant financial resources to ensure the successful launch and sustainability of the new school.
Furthermore, we acknowledge the importance of securing an appropriate property to serve as the foundation for our new school. To this end, we intend to collaborate with qualified commercial real estate brokers who can assist us in identifying and acquiring a suitable location that aligns with our vision and requirements.
If you believe you have the passion, expertise, and dedication to contribute to this transformative project, we invite you to reach out to us at mercy.girls.dont.quit@olmapc.org. Your involvement could play a pivotal role in shaping the future of OLMA and leaving a lasting impact on generations to come.
The second component, Pathway 3B establishes a Foundation to sponsor young women who would like to attend an all-girls faith-based high school funded by a variety of events in the “Spirit of Mercy” throughout the year; focused on preserving & documenting memories and experiences (via website, etc.)
As we move forward, the OLMA Preservation Coalition remains steadfast in our mission to preserve and protect the “Spirit of Mercy” and remain a vital force for educating and empowering young women for the next 95 years - in the spirit of Catherine McAuley and the Sisters of Mercy Brooklyn. We are energized by the overwhelming support for Pathway 3. Without qualified, determined and enthusiastic individuals stepping up over the course of the next few weeks to take the lead for Pathway 3A we will be unable to continue on that course and will concede to pursuing only Pathway 3B. A final decision will be made on Monday, April 15th, 2024.
